We all know that a visit to the First State quickly becomes an exploration into the wonderful world of history! That includes the small and often overlooked Hale-Byrnes House who shares their story with visitors through monthly tours and special events. This house was the first building in Delaware to receive a State Heritage Plaque and is also part of the nine-state Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail! It was even once used for a war council meeting held by George Washington, three days after the Battle of Cooch’s Bridge. How cool is that? A nationally acclaimed historic beauty right here in Greater Wilmington.
