That attitude hasn’t changed today. Sam Calagione and Dogfish Head turned Delaware into a craft beer destination, but it took dozens of dedicated brewers to create the brew scene that exists today. And it doesn’t stop there. New breeds of “craft” are spawning throughout Greater Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley at a rapid pace with the rise of small batch meads, ciders and spirits. Over 60 wineries throughout Delaware and neighboring states have formed the Vintage Atlantic Wine Region, the East Coast’s newest destination for wine lovers with over six trails in four states.
