Hagley Museum and Library

200 Hagley Creek Rd., Wilmington, DE 19807

  • Details

Hagley is where the du Pont story begins! Set on 235-acres along the Brandywine River, Hagley Museum and Library includes the original Du Pont Company powder mills and the first du Pont family home in America and includes exhibitions, demonstrations, and walking trails. We recommend a minimum visit of 3 hours and remember to wear comfortable shoes. UPDATE: After historic flooding brought on by the remnants of Hurricane Ida, Hagley Museum has reopened with a special “Historic Home and Garden” tour for visitors and members. Areas available to tour include the Eleutherian Mills Residence, E.I. du Pont Garden, Hagley Barn, and a curated display of patent models in the Hagley Library. Visitors should now enter through the entrance off Route 100 using GPS address 298 Buck Road, Wilmington, DE 19807. The opening of the new Nation of Inventors exhibition, originally scheduled for September 13, is postponed while flood damage assessment continues. Please click on the website for further details and up to date hours of operation. In compliance with Delaware's COVID-19 guidelines, Hagley is operating with modified, self-guided tours with many outdoor exhibits and areas for visitors to safely explore. Visit website for full details.
