Think you have what it takes to make it to the next level? Here’s your chance to show off your skills right here in Wilmington. The Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, are giving local basketball players an opportunity to take the court during Open Tryouts for the 2026–2027 season. And on Sunday, October 4, the action comes home to Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington.
Take Your Shot at Chase Fieldhouse
From 8 to 11 a.m. on October 4, aspiring players will hit the court at Chase Fieldhouse for the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of Delaware Blue Coats and Philadelphia 76ers coaches and staff. For players dreaming of taking their game to the professional level, this is an opportunity to compete, make an impression and experience the home court of Delaware’s own NBA G League team.
Participants are encouraged to register in advance, as only limited walk-up registration will be available and will include an additional processing fee. Each participant will also receive a Blue Coats practice jersey and a family ticket package to a future game. Players must meet all NBA eligibility requirements and complete the required NBA G League medical consent, authorization, release and eligibility forms. Forms will be provided directly to registered participants.

Basketball Is Back in Wilmington This Fall
The tryout is only the beginning of another exciting season of professional basketball in Wilmington.
The Blue Coats will tip off their 2026–2027 home campaign at Chase Fieldhouse during the first weekend in November, bringing NBA G League action back to the Wilmington Riverfront area. The complete season schedule is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. As the official NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, the Blue Coats have built an impressive history in Wilmington, including winning the 2022–2023 NBA G League Championship and making four postseason appearances.
Whether you're stepping onto the court to chase a dream or planning to cheer from the stands this season, there are plenty of reasons for basketball fans to keep their eyes on Wilmington this fall.
