Now that September is coming to an end, the “summer fun” group officially have to give in to the fact that fall is here. Hayrides, beautiful colors, and trick-or-treating fun is only the beginning for October in #VisitWilm. A colorful season of change is ahead and Greater Wilmington, Delaware is full of excursions and harvest fun!
People’s Festival – October 2nd
Wilmington’s annual People’s Festival, held at Tubman Garrett Riverfront Park, was born from the love shared between two friends and their families. Ibis Pitts and Bob Marley lived and worked in Wilmington, Delaware. This tribute festival to Bob fulfilled Ibis's desire to do something meaningful to continue to spread Bob's message. Throughout the years the event has been honored to have amazing musical guests light up the stage. This year, the lineup includes: RK$TDY, Genesis Z, Ebony Zuudia, and many others! Mayhem and Murder at Rockwood - October 8th and 9th / October 15th and 16th
Join the fun at Rockwood Park and Museum for this year's brand-new Mayhem and Murder mystery tours. Participating sleuths will search throughout Rockwood Mansion for the clues that will help solve this year's murder mysteries: Who dunnit? What was the motive? Where'd it happen? What was the weapon? Solve the case and earn the chance to win prizes! If you think your investigative skills are up to the test then register here if you dare! (This event is for 16+)
Hagley Craft Fair – October 16th and 17th
This marketplace brings together talented artisans from the Mid-Atlantic area to display and sell fine arts, crafts, and gourmet items. This premier show will feature works in wood, pottery, jewelry, fibers, metal, and other media, and includes a specialty food market. Visit vendors scattered throughout Hagley Museum’s beautiful upper property and inside the Soda House building. Food trucks will also be on property for lunch. Learn more about the fair here.

Boo at the Zoo – October 22nd - 24th
Celebrate Halloween in style at the Brandywine Zoo! This three-day event is a fun-filled adventure through the zoo with live animals, activities and some amazing treats! Purchase your tickets online at brandywinezoo.org or at the door when you arrive.
Halloween Parade in Newark - October 24th
Newark's annual Halloween Parade is back for 2021! Plan now to be a part of this special Halloween tradition, complete with marching bands, floats, antique automobiles, costumed characters, and much more. Then stick around for trick-or-treating along Main Street where numerous stores and local Newark businesses will pass out some awesome goodies. Learn more about the parade here.
Halloween at Hagley - October 30th and 31st
Halloween weekend will be filled with fun at Hagley Museum and Library. Spooktacular activities are stationed throughout the property where candy and other goodies will be passed out. (This event is included in admission.)
Tram-and-Treat at Winterthur – October 30th
Dress your little ones up for daytime trick-or-treating in the garden of Winterthur Museum. Get a ride in a special tram with stops along the route for candy and crafts. (This event is included in admission.)
