The Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, are gearing up for another action-packed season at Chase Fieldhouse, bringing professional basketball, family-friendly entertainment and plenty of hometown excitement to the Riverfront. The 2026–2027 season tips off November 6 and 7, with back-to-back home games against the Capital City Go-Go. And with 16 of the team's 24 home games scheduled for weekends, there are plenty of opportunities to catch the action throughout the season.
Whether you're a lifelong basketball fan, planning a family outing or looking for something fun to do with friends this winter season, a Blue Coats game is a great way to experience Wilmington's sports scene.
Start the Season with Opening Weekend
The excitement begins Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7, when the Blue Coats welcome the Capital City Go-Go to Chase Fieldhouse for two consecutive home games. Opening weekend kicks off the NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament, which runs through December and brings some of the league's rising talent to the court. Delaware will host seven games during the tournament before heading to Orlando for the NBA G League Winter Showcase, where players have the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of executives and scouts from all 30 NBA teams. Following the showcase, the Blue Coats return home to face the Wisconsin Herd on December 27 and 29, beginning the regular-season portion of their schedule.
More Weekend Basketball, More Reasons to Visit
One of the highlights of this year's schedule is the number of opportunities to catch a game without rearranging your weekday plans. With 16 weekend home games, fans can make Blue Coats basketball part of a Friday night out, a Saturday family adventure or a weekend getaway to Greater Wilmington. And there's even more action on the calendar in February. The Blue Coats will enjoy a seven-game homestand from February 12–28, welcoming several NBA G League opponents to Chase Fieldhouse, including the Motor City Cruise, Grand Rapids Gold and Cleveland Charge.
It's the perfect opportunity to cheer on Delaware's home team and experience the fast-paced energy of professional basketball close to home.
