It was composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and had its premiere in 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia. The ballet is based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.” "The Nutcracker" is known for its beautiful and intricate choreography, as well as Tchaikovsky's enchanting music. The ballet features iconic dances such as the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Waltz of the Flowers, and the Dance of the Snowflakes. Each act of the ballet is filled with vibrant costumes, imaginative sets, and a sense of holiday magic.

The Enchanting Fairy Tale Set to Tchaikovsky’s Glorious Score
Sleeping Beauty is considered one of the great masterpieces of classical ballet and remains a staple in many ballet companies worldwide. It is based on Charles Perrault's fairy tale "La Belle au bois dormant" (The Sleeping Beauty), which tells the story of a princess named Aurora who is cursed by an evil fairy to prick her finger on a spindle and fall into a deep sleep, only to be awakened by true love's kiss. The Sleeping Beauty is a classical ballet that was first choreographed by Marius Petipa, with music composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and now being performed by First State Ballet Theatre for all to enjoy.
