Wilmington's dining scene is about to get a vibrant, refreshed addition. The Brandywine Restaurant, located at 2000 Pennsylvania Avenue, is being rebranded as Brandywine Brasserie. Starting Tuesday, September 24, 2024, diners can expect a completely revamped menu, décor, and atmosphere, promising a more casual, approachable experience that mirrors the spirit of a traditional European brasserie.
Brasseries are known for their bustling, communal vibe, and Brandywine Brasserie is set to deliver just that. The décor has been updated to create a more relaxed and welcoming environment. Think reclaimed black walnut butcher block tables, comfortable club chairs, tufted banquettes, and vintage European travel art. The high-gloss ceiling and sophisticated black trim add a modern touch, while sound dampening ensures an enjoyable atmosphere without overwhelming noise.
The new menu, designed by Chef de Cuisine J. Thomas Edgerton, will highlight seasonal, local ingredients while offering brasserie favorites and comfort classics. Lhulier and Edgerton have crafted a selection of dishes that combine the familiar with the inventive, drawing inspiration from French and Western European cuisines, with a nod to American comfort food.
