Are you a runner? An inspiring runner? A fan of a runner?
The Delaware Marathon Running Festival is back for another year. If you plan to run the course, you can choose from a full marathon, half-marathon, a 4-person relay, a 5k or kids fun run - all benefiting area charities. Don’t worry if you’re just there to watch. You can still join the festivities at the start/finish line set up at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park. It will be a great party with live music, vendors and activities for the whole family!
“The course has a lot of variety and gives visitors a tour of many of the most interesting and beautiful parts of the city,” said one past participant from Pennsylvania.
The race travels across beautiful Brandywine Park on the Brandywine River, along tree-lined parkways, through historic Wilmington neighborhoods, and past the iconic Rodney Square downtown. The second half of the full marathon course runs along the Jack A. Markell Trail starting at the Du Pont Environmental Education Center and into historic New Castle. You can’t ask for better views while you run.
Whether you are planning to take on the challenge of the half marathon or proudly tackle the full, Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley is here for you at the finish line!
