Located in the heart of downtown Wilmington, the HOTEL DU PONT has officially been named one of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hotels in the USA.” In its 11^th year, “Best Hotel” evaluated more than 30,000 luxury properties across the United States, Europe, Bermuda, Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean.

The method used to score for such praise includes a hotel’s star rating, both expert and guest sentiment, as well as annual awards from distinguished travel publications and TripAdvisor user scores, the combination of which helps determine each hotel’s rank.

HOTEL DU PONT received this prestigious award on the heels of its new restaurant, Le Cavalier, receiving the “Best Historic Restaurant Award” from Historic Hotels of America in December 2020. The restaurant was honored for its thoughtful re-concepting of the hotel’s original Green Room. The same month, Travel + Leisure featured Delaware on its list of “50 Best Places to Travel in 2021,” specifically citing the HOTEL DU PONT and Le Cavalier as must-visit destinations for readers.
