Get ready, Wilmington, one of the region’s most beloved traditions, is back! The 64th Annual Brandywine Festival of the Arts will take over Brandywine Park’s Josephine Gardens on September 6 and 7, 2025, bringing two full days of art, music, food, and family-friendly fun to the heart of the city.

Since its humble beginnings in 1961, this vibrant festival has grown into a nationally recognized event, drawing as many as 10,000 visitors each year and earning a place among the top 100 art shows in the country. And while exceptional art remains at its core with more than 250 juried artists showcasing paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photography, jewelry, woodworking, and more, the Brandywine Festival of the Arts has become so much more.

The festival has evolved into a weekend-long celebration of community spirit and creativity. There’s truly something for everyone:

Hands-on Fun for Kids: The interactive Kids Korner will keep little ones busy with face painting, crafts, and art workshops.

Live Music All Weekend: Enjoy performances from talented local musicians, including the return of Opera Delaware to serenade festivalgoers throughout the park.

Food Trucks Galore: Whether you're in the mood for Asian fusion, barbecue, pizza "in a cone," or sweet treats like honey and water ice, the festival’s diverse food offerings will hit the spot.

Brandywine Festival of the Arts 2025Pet Adoptions: Angel's Retreat, a local no-kill animal shelter, will be on-site with adoptable furry friends—because what’s better than going home with a new family member?

Health & Wellness Support: In partnership with ACME Markets, the festival will also offer free flu shots and COVID-19 boosters (registration and insurance required).

Pet-Friendly & Easy to Access: Leashed pets are welcome and getting there is easy with free shuttle service and parking at Incyte (1801 Augustine Cutoff).
