Did you know that in 1984, U.S. President Ronald Reagan designated the month of July as National Ice Cream Month? He also assigned the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day.
Good thing, too, because that order gave us an excuse to highlight one of #VisitWilm’s favorite attractions in this month’s Bitts and Bites episode. Woodside Farm has been a family-owned dairy farm since 1796 (when George Washington was still President, by the way). Since 1998, they have manufactured their own ice cream using the milk from their herd of Jersey cows. They have also become an attraction in and of themselves – and not just for the amazing ice cream! Follow along below and learn more about Woodside Farm Creamery.
Grab some Woodside ice cream across New Castle County in several local shops, at plenty of local events and of course, on the farm! You can’t end your #VisitWilm adventure before treating yourself to one of the many delicious flavor combinations concocted by the Woodside staff.
Let us see those Woodside smiles – enter your ice cream faces here to be featured on our social media channels!
