Delaware’s food scene is more than what’s on the plate; it’s about the people, the passion, and the creativity happening behind the kitchen doors. This winter, the Delaware Tourism Office and the Delaware Restaurant Association are inviting the public to experience that story firsthand with the premiere of Back of House, a new short film series celebrating the chefs and restaurants that define dining across the First State.
The premiere event takes place Tuesday, February 3, from 4–6 p.m. at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, offering guests an exclusive screening of the films, plus something even better: tastings prepared by many of the chefs featured in the series.
Tickets are $30 per person, making this an accessible, immersive way to connect with Delaware’s culinary community.
Back of House pulls back the curtain on Delaware’s restaurants, offering an intimate look at the grit, artistry, and teamwork that turn meals into memorable experiences. From downtown Wilmington to coastal communities and historic main streets, the series highlights how restaurants play a vital role in Delaware’s tourism economy, not just as places to eat, but as destinations in their own right.
The film series is a collaborative effort between the Delaware Tourism Office, Delaware Restaurant Association, 1440 Film Co., and the Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau. Produced by 1440 Film Co., the project focuses on storytelling, not hype, capturing the real people who make Delaware dining destination-worthy.
The series spotlights a diverse lineup of standout Delaware restaurants, including:
- Banks Seafood Kitchen
- Bardea Food & Drink
- The Black Sheep
- Brûlé Bakery
- Cool Springs Fish Bar & Restaurant
- Del Pez Mexican Gastropub
- Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats
- The House of William & Merry
- One Coastal Restaurant
- Zollies Jazz Cucina
Together, they represent the creativity, diversity, and sense of place that make dining in Delaware such a compelling part of the visitor experience.
The Back of House premiere coincides with the Delaware Restaurant Association’s annual Fast Forward Conference, bringing industry professionals and food lovers together under one roof for an evening that celebrates connection, creativity, and community.
Whether you’re a devoted foodie, a supporter of local businesses, or simply curious about what happens beyond the pass, this event offers a rare opportunity to taste, watch, and celebrate the stories behind Delaware’s kitchens.
Tickets are available now and space is limited. Don’t miss this chance to experience Delaware’s culinary scene from the inside out.
