1. Votes for Women: A Visual History

2020 marks the centennial anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, granting women the right to vote. To commemorate the occasion, Brandywine River Museum of Art presents an exhibition rediscovering the visual language of the women’s suffrage movement. This exhibit will be on display February 1st – June 7th.

2. Cabaret at the Candlelight Theater

The tradition of dinner theater finds a contemporary home inside The Candlelight Theatre. From the theater classics to new shows just off Broadway, it’s always an amazing experience! This month get lost in the wonderful world of the Kit Kat Club, and enjoy Cabaret live on stage.    

3. A Circus of Murder

On February 15th, join The Greatest Show on Earth under the Delaware Museum of Natural History’s big top. But be warned, the night will soon turn deadly when murder strikes. Grab your best circus attire, and get ready to solve a mystery! (This is a 21+ event.)

4. Lewis Black Live

Grammy Award-winning stand-up comedian Lewis Black, known as the king of rant, comes to the Grand Opera House on February 21st. Grab your tickets, kick back, relax, and enjoy laughing at yourself and others for a night of pure entertainment.

6. Final Days of the Riverfront Ice Rink

Join in the fun winter tradition of ice skating along Wilmington’s Riverfront with Horizon Services Riverfront Ice Skating Rink. Gliding across the ice is made even more memorable with beautiful views of the Riverfront as the backdrop. Make your plans to visit before it’s too late! The rink closes for the season March 1st.

7. Matilda The Musical

For more than 40 years, the Delaware Children’s Theatre has been bringing classic stories to life on stage. Grab the family, and get ready. The wildly popular and imaginative show, Matilda, is coming to the theatre. Opening night is February 22nd.

9. Schoonover Painting on Display

On January 6th, a Delaware native and his painting by American illustrator Frank Schoonover were featured on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow, filmed at Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library. The painting, purchased in 1960 for $300, was appraised by the show’s experts at $125,000. The Delaware Art Museum recently announced the painting will be displayed in its American illustration gallery through June 6, 2020. Learn more – here.

10. Outside Mullingar

Join the Delaware Theatre Company as Outside Mullingar, a Tony Award nominee, is brought to its stage. A romantic comedy set in rural Ireland, the play takes you on a journey full of dark humor and poetic prose – reminding us it’s never too late to take a chance on love.  Opening night is February 12th.
