WILMINGTON, DE – The Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced three that three new Directors have joined its Board. Jeremy Costa, Managing Director of the HOTEL DU PONT; Jamar Rahming, Executive Director of the Wilmington Public Library; and Christopher Strand, Director and CEO of Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library are the appointees.

The Bureau, a 501(c)6 founded in 1978, is the destination marketing organization for New Castle County. It promotes the region as a destination for leisure travel, meetings and conventions.

Costa joined the leadership team of the HOTEL DU PONT in 2023. He has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Since joining PM Hotel Group in 2018 as complex General Manager, Costa led the multimillion-dollar renovation and rebranding of what is now known as the Philadelphia Marriott Old City Hotel in addition to overseeing the Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown. He previously held both General Manager and Regional Director of Operations roles under Hersha Hospitality Management.

Rahming has worked in the library industry for 20 years in eight different states including a fellowship at the Smithsonian Institution. He has served as J Rahmingexecutive director of the Wilmington Public Library since 2018. Rahming was awarded the Movers & Shakers 2023 Community Builders award in recognition for the innovative programs, partnerships and community outreach he established at the library. Most recently, Rahming was named the 2024 Medium Nonprofit CEO of the Year by the Delaware Business Times.

Strand has served as the Charles F. Montgomery Director and CEO of Winterthur since 2021. Prior to this role, he was the Brown Harrington Director of Garden & Estate at the museum. Strand’s work experience is in Public Horticulture. He grew up working in the wholesale nursery and floral industries and has worked at the Denver Botanic Chris StrandGardens, Callaway Gardens, the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, and Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria Virginia.

The Bureau has 27 total board seats. Seven are appointed by the Governor of Delaware, seven are appointed by the New Castle County Executive, and seven are appointed by the Mayor of Wilmington. The remaining six are appointed by the board itself.

Costa was appointed by the Bureau’s Board. Rahming was appointed by the County Executive, and Strand was appointed by the Governor.

The Bureau is a non-profit organization founded by the Governor of Delaware, the New Castle County Executive and the Mayor of Wilmington. Its mission is to serve as the community's customer-focused destination marketing organization, generating economic growth through leisure travel and meetings development by aggressively marketing attractions, facilities, amenities and services for visitors. As a result, the Bureau seeks to attract visitors, increase visitor spending and related tax revenues, generate jobs, and enhance the quality of life of New Castle County residents.
