Each year, the Wilmington Drama League presents six to eight full-scale productions, ranging from Broadway favorites to thought-provoking plays that highlight themes of diversity, community, and inclusion. It’s a space where creativity thrives and all voices are welcome on the Community Stage.  

The Wilmington Drama League has officially unveiled its 2025–2026 season—and what a season it will be! Announced during their annual Reveal Party, the upcoming lineup features a dynamic blend of bold dramas, crowd-pleasing musicals, sharp comedies, and youth-led productions. Whether you're a longtime patron or new to the world of live theater, this season offers something for everyone.

Show 1:  

Angels in America Part 1 – Millennium Approaches 
September 12–21, 2025 | Directed by Dominic Santos 

Wilmington Drama League’s season opens with Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama that explores politics, identity, and the AIDS crisis in 1980s America. A bold and timely choice that sets the tone for a compelling year of theater. 

Show 2: 

Angels in America Part 2 – Perestroika 
October 10–19, 2025 | Directed by Dominic Santos 

Part two of Kushner’s epic continues the journey, delving deeper into the lives and struggles of its unforgettable characters.

The Trail to Oregon 
November 6–9, 2025 | Directed by Aubrey Murphy 

This hilarious, choose-your-own-ending musical parody by StarKid Productions takes audiences on a wild ride down the Oregon Trail—just beware of dysentery!

The Little Mermaid 
December 12–28, 2025 | Directed by Darryl Thompson 

Perfect for the holiday season, this Disney classic will enchant audiences of all ages with its underwater magic and unforgettable songs.

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change 
January 23–February 1, 2026 | Directed by Lauren Vitalo, Music Directed by Anthony Vitalo 

This witty musical revue dives into the humor and heartbreak of modern relationships, from awkward first dates to long-married life.  

Show 6:  

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof 
March 6–15, 2026 | Directed by Allyson Sands 

Tennessee Williams’ steamy Southern drama takes center stage in this gripping tale of lies, legacy, and longing. 

Show 7:  

Murder Among Friends 
March 26–29, 2026 | Directed by Ken Mammarella 

A deliciously dark comedy-thriller where the lines between friend and foe blur dangerously. 

Show 8:  

Ride the Cyclone: The Musical 
April 24–May 3, 2026 | Directed by Ray Crozier 

A quirky and heartwarming musical about a group of teens who get one last chance to tell their stories—equal parts eerie and uplifting. 

Show 9:  

Sister Act 
May 29–June 14, 2026 | Directed & Choreographed by Patrick Murray 

Closing out the season is the crowd-pleasing, gospel-infused musical comedy based on the hit film. Get ready to raise your voice!

The Wilmington Drama League is more than just its mainstage productions—it's a hub for cultivating the next generation of performers, writers, and theater lovers. Youth-centered programs like Pillow Plays (performed by kids, for kids), the Jeff Walker Youth One-Act Festival, and the Imago group for emerging playwrights offer young artists the chance to grow and shine. Throughout the season, additional events like the Ruby M. Stanley One-Act Festival spotlight fresh voices and local talent, while summer brings the excitement of stock camp and lively outdoor performances in Wilmington’s parks.
