From its humble beginnings in 1979, in an abandoned firehouse at Third and French Streets in Downtown Wilmington, Delaware, to today’s beautiful and intimate theater at Riverfront Wilmington, the Delaware Theatre Company (DTC) has produced over 220 mainstage productions, seen more than one million patrons, and has impacted over 100,000 people through its Education and Community Engagement programs.
For its 44th season, the DTC has unveiled a five-show lineup of award-winning and diverse performances to usher in a new era with Matt Silva at the helm as Executive and Artistic Director.
“For my first season as Executive and Artistic Director, I wanted to assemble a compelling offering, with shows that explore a wide range of human emotions,” said Matt Silva. “Our goal as Delaware’s only professional, Broadway-caliber theatre company is to create experiences that bring people together as a community in a welcoming, intimate space to laugh, to cry, and to reflect.”

One of the most popular comedies of all time, this Tony Award–winning play is an ingenious backstage farce. Full of shocking surprises and gut-busting humor, Noises Off “voyages to the outer limits of hilarity,” says The New York Times.

Formed five years before the Harlem Globetrotters, the New York “Harlem” Rens compiled one of the most impressive winning streaks in basketball history and would change the way the game is played forever. From the writer/director of Black Angels Over Tuskegee, this production transforms DTC’s stage into a full basketball court!
