This summer, the Brandywine Museum of Art invites visitors to experience Andrew Wyeth at Kuerner Farm: The Eye of the Earth, a landmark exhibition highlighting one of the most iconic subjects of the celebrated artist’s career. On view from June 22 through September 28, 2025, this nationally traveling exhibition is the first to focus exclusively on Wyeth’s seven-decade exploration of Kuerner Farm, a Chadds Ford site just a short walk from his studio and now a National Historic Landmark managed by the Brandywine.
Wyeth created nearly 1,000 works inspired by the farm’s haunting landscape, rustic buildings, and the family who lived there. This exhibition brings together nearly 50 of those pieces, including well-known masterpieces such as Karl, Groundhog Day, Snow Hill, and Evening at Kuerners, along with rarely seen works from both public and private collections across the country.

The show not only explores Wyeth’s deep connection to Kuerner Farm but also offers insight into how the property shaped his artistic vision. The exhibition’s title is drawn from a significant, lesser-known watercolor of a mysterious pond on the property—what Wyeth called “the eye of the Earth.” This intimate and poetic reference underscores the profound bond between artist and place.
