Following last year’s sold-out debut, A Divine Night in Delaware moves to the larger Copeland Hall, ensuring even more people can enjoy the magic of this unique celebration. The evening begins with a DJed cocktail hour, featuring a red-carpet runway, professional “pOPERAzzi” capturing arrivals, and a complimentary glass of champagne to kick off the festivities. VIPs will have access to an exclusive lounge with complimentary cocktails, while other attendees can savor Italian bites and drinks at the Sarah Bernhardt Lounge.

As the night unfolds, the spotlight shifts to an electrifying program of opera and ballet performances, showcasing the talents of internationally acclaimed artists and celebrating the intersection of art, culture, and the Divine Nine’s rich heritage. 

OperaDelaware presents three powerhouse vocalists for the evening: 
  • Talise Trevigne, a celebrated soprano whose performances in La Traviata and the world premiere of Castor and Patience have earned her international acclaim. 
  • Daniel Rich, a baritone who captivated audiences in La Bohème and is a graduate of the prestigious Lindemann Young Artist Program at the Metropolitan Opera. 
  • Dane Suarez, a tenor praised for his “heroic voice” and emotional depth, who continues to dazzle as an OperaDelaware Company Artist. 
First State Ballet Theatre will grace the stage with a dynamic blend of classical and contemporary works.

Highlights include excerpts from beloved ballets like La Esmerelda and Talisman Pas De Deux, performances by talented students from their training programs, and Celestials, a world premiere by renowned choreographer Viktor Plotnikov. 

Beyond the artistic excellence, A Divine Night in Delaware is a heartfelt tribute to the Divine Nine’s contributions to community service and cultural enrichment. The event includes a friendly attendance competition among the sororities and fraternities, with the winning group earning a free Pop-Up Opera performance from OperaDelaware. A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Delaware, supporting their mission to promote unity and service.
