Wilmington’s food scene is about to get cozier—and tastier. Bardea Restaurant Group, the creative force behind some of the city’s most acclaimed eateries, has opened a brand-new neighborhood spot: Roost Pub & Kitchen.

Roost is designed to be a warm and welcoming gathering place for locals, sports fans, families, and visitors alike. Whether you’re looking to unwind over a cold beer and a burger, catch the game on one of the many TVs, or dig into an inventive comfort food dish with friends, Roost is your new downtown go-to.

The name “Roost” reflects the restaurant’s purpose—creating a casual, feel-good place where people can relax, reconnect, and enjoy great food. “Our Bardea family has felt so welcomed by the Wilmington community,” says co-owner Scott Stein. “In return, we hope Roost becomes a place people can settle in and feel cared for and at home.” Roost Kitchen - Food

And with Chef Antimo DiMeo at the helm—twice nominated for a James Beard Award—expect familiar favorites with a flavorful twist. The Roost menu is all about elevated comfort food inspired by DiMeo’s own favorite eats. Think bold flavors, playful presentations, and dishes that satisfy like your go-to sports bar meal—but with a serious upgrade.

A few highlights include:

  • Snacks: Shrimp taquitos with citrus tahini and chili crisp, bone-in wings with smoked yuzu buffalo or gochujang miso BBQ, and pork tostadas with pimento cheese.
  • Salads: A classic Cobb and a fresh Greek salad, both packed with color and crunch.
  • Flatbreads: Garden-inspired pies or a take on buffalo chicken dip in pizza form.
  • Handhelds: Smash burgers, short rib grilled cheese, and a wagyu pastrami Reuben.
  • Entrees: Comfort classics like Shepherd’s Pie, tamarind BBQ pork ribs, and fig-glazed salmon.
  • Desserts: Expect throwback sweets like peanut butter pie, strawberry toaster strudel, and soft-serve ice cream.

Roost’s beverage menu is beer-forward with an impressive draft list of local and international favorites. Whether you're craving a craft IPA or a nostalgic bottle of PBR, there's something for everyone.

More from the Bardea Restaurant Group

Cocktail lovers won’t be left out either. General Manager Samantha Costa has created a fun, inventive drink list with names inspired by early naming ideas for the restaurant. Sip on “Bevi” (vodka, pickle brine, and cheddar vermouth) or go bold with “Per Diem,” a blend of Aperol, rye, pineapple, and lime.

Wine fans will also find unique global selections, thanks to Beverage Director Eric Gallen’s thoughtful curation.

The vibe at Roost is casual and comfortable with a few fun touches. Picture warm woods, Edison bulb lighting, TV-lined walls, and even wallpaper featuring Abe Lincoln enjoying a pint. Whether you’re at the bar, in a booth, or in the private dining area (yes, that’s available too!), it’s the kind of place you’ll want to hang out for a while.

Roost Pub & Kitchen will be open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday.

  • Tuesday–Wednesday: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Thursday–Saturday: 4 p.m. to midnight
  • Sunday: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
