New Hotels, Added Meeting Space Come to Wilmington’s Riverfront

Two new hotels have opened their doors on Wilmington, Delaware’s Riverfront.  The Hyatt Place Wilmington Riverfront and the Homewood Suites by Hilton, join the established Westin Riverfront in this hip and trendy Wilmington neighborhood that includes restaurants, an IMAX theater, a seasonal beer garden, Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball, the DuPont Environmental Education Center and much more.  All three of the Riverfront’s hotels are within walking distance of the Chase Center on the Riverfront, Greater Wilmington’s largest meeting venue.

The 114-room Hyatt is the first for the brand in Wilmington and features Riverfront Events, with 5,200 square feet of meeting space and a 6,000 square foot patio along the Riverwalk.  The hotel’s dining options include Breakfast Bar, serving fresh breakfast daily, The Market, with several grab-and-go options, and The Bar, offering options from coffee to cocktails. There’s also Big Fish, a restaurant connected to the Hyatt serving the finest and freshest seafood from the Mid-Atlantic region.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton celebrated its grand opening on October 23^rd.  This 120-room extended-stay property offers views of the Christina River, evening receptions and a 475 square foot meeting room along with its fully equipped kitchens and dining areas within each suite. Guests can also enjoy complimentary hot breakfast each morning to start their day. The Homewood Suites provides a fitness center, business services, and free parking.

The nearby Chase Center on the Riverfront hosts all types of events—from small meetings and large multiday conferences, conventions, and trade shows to social galas, weddings, community events, and other celebrations—attracting people throughout the region and beyond.  A key feature of the Chase Center is its direct connection to the 180-room Westin Wilmington. This modern hotel is pet-friendly and provides event spaces for smaller groups. The Chase Center offers ample conference rooms, a 250-seat auditorium, an open exhibit area, and several beautiful ballrooms.  With the addition of the new hotels, there are now 414 sleeping rooms within walking distance to the center, and another 876 rooms within a 2-mile radius.
