Many of the restaurants in Greater Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley are now back open for in-house dining! Quite a few have also expanded their outdoor seating so you can enjoy the fine summer weather and fresh air.

In Phase 1, which kicked off June 1, restaurant seating is at 30% fire capacity, and tables will be spaced out according to the guidance of that phase.

Phase 2 rolls out June 15. Then, restaurants can seat guests up to 60% of fire capacity.

To keep everyone safe and prevent further spread of COVID-19, the State of Delaware has outlined the following guidelines for you, our guests:

  • Face coverings are required at all times unless seated at your table.
  • Delawareans must continue to adhere to strict social distancing requirements (6 feet apart from anyone not in your immediate household) and follow basic hygiene practices including frequent hand washing.
  • Only members of the same household may be seated at a table.
  • Reservations must be made in advance in order to sit down at a restaurant or food establishment.

Want to know exactly what to expect? Watch the great video below that has been put together by Stitch House Brewery, one of Wilmington’s downtown restaurants, that summarizes the experience you can expect not only at their restaurant, but all restaurants across the state.

Please bear in mind that this process is new to all of us, and many of our restaurateurs and their staff are back at work after being out of work for more than three months. We ask that you have patience, be kind to your servers, and understanding of our restaurants as they adjust to this new way of serving you. We are all in this together. Your kindness will be very much appreciated.
