Off-Site Meetings and Team Building Activities

Wilmington, DEL (May 5, 2014)...Are you searching for some new ideas for off-site meetings and team building activities?  Here are some suggestions in Wilmington, Delaware:

Stratosphere Trampoline Park...One of Wilmington's newest additions is the Stratosphere Trampoline Park in the Wilmington Riverfront.  The main arena in this indoor facility can accommodate 125 jumpers at a time.  Behind the main arena are two dodge ball courts where teams of six players each compete on trampolines.  There's a flip & tumble pit on the balcony level overlooking the main arena and a pent house suite equipped with cable and TV that is perfect for private meetings plus three party rooms on the ground floor.  www.altitudewilmington.com

Take a Day Sail on the Kalmar Nyckel.  The Kalmar Nyckel is a seaworthy recreation of the Tall Ship that brought the Swedes to what is now Wilmington more than 375 years ago.  Her mainmast rises higher than a 10-story building.  She carries 7600 square feet of sails, 6 miles of rigging and 10 cannon.   Learning how to maneuver the ship under sail epitomizes team building initiatives.  www.kalmarnyckel.org

Wilmington's Riverboat Queen is another unconventional choice for off-site meetings and team building activities.  Modeled after an old fashioned paddle wheel boat, this double deck boat sails on Wilmington's Christina River during the warmer months of the year.  Docked directly behind the Iron Hill Brewery in the Wilmington Riverfront, the Riverboat Queen can comfortably accommodate 120 passengers.  It is available for private sails and also offers All-You- Can-Eat-Crab Cruises, sit-down dinners and sightseeing cruises.  www.wilmingtonriverboat.com

Go Ape!  Zip Line Course at Lums Pond State Park... Go Ape!  is an exciting outdoor adventure course featuring four zip lines that travel through the tree tops high above a 200-acre pond.  The 2-3 hour zip line course includes a challenging series of Tarzan swings, rope ladders, bridges and trapezes.  Go Ape!  is located off Interstate-95 in Lums Pond State Park in Bear, Delaware and is just a short drive from Downtown Wilmington.  www.goape.com

Deerfield is a championship golf course located on Thompson Station Road just minutes from Downtown Newark and the University of Delaware.   Once an exclusive country club reserved for MBNA employees, and later the Bank of New York, Deerfield is not owned by the State of Delaware and operated by Forewinds Hospitality.  Deerfield's glass-sided conference center has 5,800 square feet of meeting space and breakout rooms.  It provides breathtaking views of the championship golf course with its rolling wooded grounds and an on-site restaurant serves excellent cuisine.  Deerfield is a great choice if you are interested in combining an off-site meeting with a round of golf.  www.deerfieldgolfclub.com
