Wilmington, DEL (September 8, 2015)...The Web Marketing Association has just announced Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau as the recipient of its 2015 Travel Standard of Excellence Award for outstanding achievement in web development.  GWCVB's website, www.VisitWilmingtonDE.com, was unveiled in
December, 2014 and this is the second award it has received.

The Web Marketing Association is a volunteer organization comprised of Internet marketing, online advertising, PR and top web site design professionals.  Its annual WebAward Competition has been setting the standard of excellence for website development since 1997.  During this year's competition, independent judges reviewed more than 1,500 entries from 40 countries and 96 industry categories.  Entries were evaluated on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation and use of technology. 

According to William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association, "Website design is constantly evolving to better meet the needs of online audiences.  This year, the WebAwards competition received remarkable entries from around the world that show impressive creativity and functionality."

Scott Ciancio, Director of Marketing at the Greater Wilmington CVB, said "The WebAward Competition is the premier award recognition program for web developers.  We are honored to receive the 2015 Travel Standard of Excellence Award for outstanding achievement in web development."
