Brandywine Festival of the Arts

The Brandywine Festival of the Arts has been a perennial favorite for over 50 years. This year's festival will be held on September 8th and 9th in Josephine Gardens in Wilmington's Brandywine Park. Delaware Saengerbund Oktoberfest

For three days in Newark, enjoy authentic German entertainment and cuisine. The "Enzian Volkstanzgruppe", a Bavarian dance group, performs in traditional costumes with the men dressed in "Lederhosen" and the women in "Dirndl". Music is provided by live bands. Fringe Festival

Fringe Festival promises to be more exciting than ever when it returns to Wilmington on September 26 thru September 30. This expanded, five-day celebration of unconventional and experimental art takes audiences on an exciting journey to the cutting edge of performance, visual arts and cinema. Vendemmia Wine Festival

The Vendemmia Festival is Wilmington's biggest fall party. On Sunday, October 7th, More than 2,500 wine aficionados are expected to gather in Tubman Garrett Park on the Wilmington Riverfront to celebrate the Harvest of the Grapes. From 2:00PM to 6:30PM, sample the finest wines from every region in Italy and enjoy delicacies prepared by the area's best restaurants and bakeries. The festivities include four hours of live musical entertainment, homemade wine and gravy contests and a chance to win a trip for two to Italy. Chrysanthemum Festival
(October 27-November 18, 2012)
Chrysanthemums take center stage at Longwood Gardens from October 27th through November 19. During this festival, more than 200,000 chrysanthemums are arranged in amazing configurations inside the four-acre indoor Conservatory. Cascades of chrysanthemums drape the walls while spiral chrysanthemum forms climb skyward towards a towering, three-tier chandelier constructed of vibrant yellow chrysanthemums hanging from the Conservatory ceiling.
