Greater Wilmington’s Mt. Cuba Center, a true hidden gem, is best known for its native plants and tranquil nature setting. Wander through the gardens and find yourself in a state of pure relaxation. Take a hike through the winding paths to breathe in nature. Explore the formal and naturalistic gardens of this du Pont mansion and uncover a bit of history. While Mt. Cuba is used to being that peaceful sanctuary... for one weekend in April, it’s time to go wild!

The end of April brings an incredible celebration of beauty to the gardens each year. The early spring wildflowers that bloom are special not just for their beauty and iconic nature but also because their life cycles are so brief. They emerge, blossom and leave us again before the leaves of the tree canopy close over the forest floor.

Their short lifespan is cause for celebration while they’re in full bloom! Enjoy the festivities each day of wildflower weekend this year, from April 25-27, 2025.

While this event is one that simply can’t be missed, we understand that the short lifespan of these wildflowers won’t fit into everyone's busy schedules. If you can't make it in time to see the special bloom, don't worry! There are plenty of gorgeous garden views ahead throughout the season at the Mt. Cuba Center. Be sure to keep an eye on their website for all the details.
