There’s no place quite like Longwood Gardens, especially in the fall. Now through November 16, 2025, the gardens burst into a living canvas of fiery foliage, dazzling blooms, and breathtaking displays during Autumn’s Colors. Whether you’re strolling beneath golden ginkgo trees, marveling at dancing fountains, or exploring centuries-old horticultural traditions, Longwood’s fall season is a feast for the senses.
Step outside and soak in the season’s beauty. Highlights include:
- Pumpkins decorate the Rose Arbor and Idea Garden
- The Garden Railway celebrates its 25th anniversary with a brand-new Chimes Tower model
- The whimsical treehouses provide sweeping views of fall foliage in hues of burgundy, gold, and purple.
Indoors, the West Conservatory mirrors autumn’s brilliance with vibrant orange lion’s tail and deep purple spurflowers.
And don’t miss the final Illuminated Fountain Performances of the year, jets of water dancing under the crisp evening sky—on select nights through October 26.

Chrysanthemum Festival
Beginning October 24, Longwood’s Conservatories transform into a celebration of horticultural artistry with the Chrysanthemum Festival. More than 5,000 chrysanthemums take shape as spirals, cascading clouds, and intricate sculptural forms. This year’s highlight: the debut of Longwood’s first-ever grafted chrysanthemum bonsai, alongside striking bonsai creations from students and staff. Each bloom is meticulously nurtured over the course of a year to create this one-of-a-kind display.
Cascade Garden
Guests can also explore the reimagined Cascade Garden, the last surviving U.S. design by renowned landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx. Preserved and reconstructed inside a glasshouse, it showcases Burle Marx’s signature artistry: tropical plants, sculptural stonework, and flowing water features, brought together in a stunning living landscape.
Fall Dining
Savor the flavors of the season at 1906, Longwood’s signature restaurant, or enjoy live music and craft drinks beneath the golden ginkgo trees in the Beer Garden, open weekends through October 26.
