Black History Month Events 

The Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs preserves Delaware's heritage and showcases the historic legacy of the state. Through active historic preservation efforts, engaging educational programs, and stimulating exhibits, the Division is committed to enhancing Delaware's quality of life by helping people connect with those aspects of the past that have made this state what it is today. Winter Wonder at Longwood Gardens 

The annual Winter Wonder season at Longwood Gardens brings color and splendor. Warm up inside the Garden’s Conservatory with more than two-acres of gardens under glass featuring a variety of blooming plants from around the world and witness a sight like no other.  Learn more about this exhibit and the new and exciting programs it offers here.

Live Music Thursdays at DECO Wilmington 

If you’re looking for an evening out in downtown, look to DECO Wilmington for live music and local food. DECO is a food hall located next to the HOTEL DU PONT featuring eight unique food stalls including: Al Chu’s Sushi, Pizzeria Bardea and Connie’s Chicken and Waffles. From morning to night, DECO has something for everyone to enjoy. On Thursday evenings, DECO features live local music to enjoy while you dine!  Check out the winter lineup here

Valentine's Weekend Specials and Events

OperaDelaware presents A Valentine's Cabaret 

Grab the one you love and head to OperaDelaware’s Valentine’s Day performance for a unique date night. Acclaimed soprano Toni Marie Palmertree and pianist Aurelien Eulert present an enchanting program of amore-themed favorites by Britten, Porter, Weill, and more. 

Cupids Undie Run 

One more Valentine’s-themed special event is Wilmington’s Undie Run! Strip down for a good cause. This fun run takes place February 25th at DECO Wilmington. Learn more about the event here.  

Feed Your Winter Wonder at Brandywine Museum of Art  

Learn how to enhance winter interest in landscapes and discover why the often-overlooked season is the perfect time for planning spring gardening projects with the Brandywine Museum of Art. This native plant class led by horticulturist Emily Tinalli features a stroll around the Museum gardens and a sampling of foraged flavors. Take an up-close look at some native trees and shrubs that add texture, color and structure to the winter garden and learn about their ecological benefits to the wildlife that depend on them.

One Man, Two Guvnors at Delaware Theatre Company – February 1-19 

Set in 1963 in Brighton and delightfully underscored by a live skiffle band, this hilarious play coming to Delaware Theatre Company, transforms Goldoni’s 18th-century classic Servant of Two Mastersinto a fast-paced, satirical, door-slamming farce.  

Popovich Pet Theater at the Grand Opera House – February 4

First State Ballet Theatre - Triple Bill – February 17-19  

Be one of the first to experience the excitement of three world premiere ballet performances at the Baby Grand Theater located inside downtown Wilmington’s Grand Opera House. These First State Ballet Theatre performances are choreographed by Zachary Kapeluck, Blake Krapels, and Viktor Plotnikov.
