The Town of Bellefonte, north of Wilmington, is scheduled to fill Brandywine Boulevard, once again, in celebration of local visual, performance, and culinary arts.

The much-anticipated Bellefonte Arts Festival comes back to life on the third Saturday of May thanks to the artist collective, Bellefonte Arts. Since its inception in 2009, the Bellefonte Arts Festival has grown and united the community of Bellefonte through the celebration of local art.  Bellefonte Arts Festival Logo

“This year’s festival will be bittersweet,” said Bellefonte Arts owner Valerie White. “With the loss of my partner Damon Betz, we lost a person who was a huge part of the festival since its inception in 2009. I’m thrilled that the festival will continue in his memory, and we want to make sure that May 21st is filled with his spirit, spunk, and passion.”

The festival will feature live performances from The PJ’s, Diamond State Swing Jazz, Garry and the Complainers, What the Funk, and The Heat with a special walk-through performance from the H. Fletcher Brown Boys and Girls Club Artistic Force Drill and Drum Team.  Grab a bite to eat at the “food court” from Koi on the Go, Burgers by Wildwich, Apple Flappen, and the Polish Connection. Don’t forget to check out Caramels and Lollipops, Copperfield Kettle Korn, Ice Cream Shoppe, and Gotta Lotta Gelato when your sweet tooth kicks in! Last, but certainly not least, explore visual art! Stroll Brandywine Boulevard and shop ‘til you drop with vendors offering everything from photography to paintings, handcrafted products, farm-fresh goods, apothecary skin care, bonsai, and so much more. You’re bound to walk out with something (or things) for yourself and maybe even a gift for Dad this Father’s Day.

The Bellefonte Arts Festival is family friendly too! Have a blast at the Kids Korner with a Teddy Bear Tea Party, face painting and caricatures. Tickets are just $2 per person or $5 for a family of three or more. Purchase your tickets now on bellefontearts.com or at the festival.

Mark your calendar and join us all day for a fun day filled with art, friends, and shopping in Greater Wilmington.
