Antiques, Art Studios & Galleries

The Brandywine Valley has offered a place of quiet and retreat for artists and craftsmen alike for generations, from the days when Howard Pyle brought art students to Chadds Ford at the turn of the 19th century, to the century-old, but still vibrant, artists' colony inside the Village of Arden, Delaware

Those artistic legacies are often on display in the studios and galleries that dot the landscape throughout the region, in an area that offers two monthly First Friday gallery tours (one "Art Stroll" in KENNETT SQUARE, the other "Art Loop" in Wilmington) to display the work that continues to be produced in the region.

The Delaware Antiques Show in Wilmington is one of the most acclaimed shows in the country, an annual gathering of top-flight dealers and savvy collectors. But all year long, antiquers can spend hours on a back roads tour of the Brandywine Valley, seeking treasures where they may find them.
