Biking & Bike Trails in Wilmington, Delaware

The LEAGUE OF AMERICAN BICYCLISTS currently ranks Delaware in the top-10 among bicycling friendly  states in the country, and it's certainly one of the most beautiful. The 19 miles of completed trail along the East Coast Greenway connect the Delaware parks with the city of WILMINGTON and the historically charming city of OLD NEW CASTLE. And, Amtrak's Northeast Regional line allows riders to travel with their bicycle (for a small additional fee) making it easy and convenient to explore Greater Wilmington by bike.

Delaware hosts many annual events for cyclists, from casual, scenic bicycling events like the River Towns Ride & Festival, to the seriously professional WILMINGTON GRAND PRIX, where elite cyclists race through city streets. Amateur and cycling enthusiasts are encouraged to join the Wilmington Gran Fondo as well as a number of other distance rides that span the entire region and are scheduled throughout riding season. Families can join in as well on more relaxed, shorter courses.
