Visit the more than 80 eclectic boutiques in and around Newark’s Main Street or take in a show with one of Newark’s theater troupes: the Resident Ensemble Players or Chapel Street Players.

The University of Delaware is one of the nation’s oldest, dating back to 1743, so there’s plenty to see. Start with the historic buildings of the Central Campus, then visit the UD Botanical Gardens.
The town is at its liveliest when school is in session but its eclectic Main Street rewards a visit all year. In the summer, the Downtown Newark Food & Brew Fest is well worth checking out.
