Bakeries, Coffee & Dessert

From early morning espresso to the last profiterole of the night, our cafes and bakeries will keep you moving throughout your days.

Local chain BREW HAHA has outposts all over the Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley, serving coffee, lattes and some delicious scones. Want to talk beans? Coffee geeks will be happy to go into detail at DRIP CAFÉ in Hockessin, PENN'S PLACE in Old New Castle and PHILTER HANDCRAFTED COFFEE in Kennett Square.

Once you're in the mood for something sweet, wander over to our own "NEXT GREAT BAKERDANA HERBERT'S shop in Newark, or to the gluten-free SWEET CHRISTINE'S in Kennett Square. And no visit to the HOTEL DUPONT would be complete without one of their signature macaroons - though we can't pass up the chocolate cookies either.

Rather something cold? WOODSIDE FARM CREAMERY has a national reputation and a fiercely local following, but the University of Delaware's UDAIRY CREAMERY has its own fans. You'll find great, locally made ice cream in small shops all over the area. What else would you expect from the hometown of the OLD FASHIONED ICE CREAM FESTIVAL at ROCKWOOD PARK, one of USATODAY'S 10 BEST FOOD FESTIVALS.
