Wilmington Grand Prix Weekend
Named to the Top 10 criterium bike races in the country by USA Cycling, the Wilmington Grand Prix is an international cycling event that includes a free six-block street festival, a parade, sidewalk cafes,a variety of free family attractions, and a bucket-list Gran Fondo recreational reide through a dozen world-class cultural attractions. Start your weekend with the Monkey Hill Time Trials on Friday, with live music, craft beer & food trucks. Saturday the whole family can enjoy the Grand Prix Street Festival with moon bounces, music, food and more – all FREE! Sunday, riders can traverse the incredible Wilmington Gran Fondo course – one of the most scenic cycling routes in the US.
A Day In Old New Castle
Head to Historic New Castle, Delaware for the oldest continually operating house and garden tour in the U.S. – a 93-year tradition. The community of New Castle invites you to discover and tour many private homes, gardens and public buildings. The theme this year is Taverns, Taprooms and Tippling Houses - a Beer Garden will be open from noon - 4pm. Events and activities include reenactors, encampments, period children’s games and activities, carriage rides, musical entertainment and more! Free parking and shuttle to Old New Castle is available. Bellefonte Arts Festival
With over 50 art vendors, live music, food trucks and more – the town of Bellefonte turns into one big block party for the 9th Annual Bellefonte Arts Festival. Art vendors include photographers, handmade jewelry, glass blowing demonstrations, handmade candles, illustrators, painters and many more! The fun starts at 9am.
WXPN welcomes David Bromberg’s Big Noise - the premier one day Americana festival in the Mid-Atlantic! Head to Tubman – Garrett Park on the Wilmington Riverfront and enjoy a day of live music featuring six nationally acclaimed bands including David Bromberg’s Big Band, Dr. John & the Nite Trippers and The Chris Robinson Brotherhood. Some of the area’s best food trucks will be on hand, with a little help from Wilmington’s Rolling Revolution. Bromberg’s Big Noise will also feature a variety of artisan merchants, local and from around the country. Tickets will be available at the door in limited quantities – so buy your tickets in advance!
