Want to shake those winter blues? Nowhere else can you feel such a hope of spring as when you walk into the 4-acre conservatory at Longwood Gardens. I went there during their Orchid Extravaganza and all I can say is "wow!" The orchid chandelier, orchid islands, waterfalls, hanging baskets, arrangements, orchid sculptures and plantings everywhere are truly breathtaking. The growers are geniuses for sure. They have thousands of flowering orchids, many more than they can display at one time and in every color you can think of. They actually change the orchid types every day in the Orchid House.

I hope you have a chance some day to visit Longwood Gardens. Any time of the year the displays are amazing! You don't want to miss seeing the yellow mum arches and the single stem mum in autumn. This year's mum will have over 1,400 blossoms on a single stem! Now I must go. I have to get online and order my Cymbidium, Oncidium, Phalaenopsis, and Dendrobium while I'm inspired.
