Transportation Incentive

The Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau is offering the largest transportation incentive in the Mid-Atlantic region. Receive up to $50,000 towards your transportation needs when you choose to host your event in the Greater Wilmington area. You'll enjoy no sales tax on meeting room rentals and food & beverage, while enjoying the convenience of an east coast location that is easily accessible by air, rail and auto.

Assistance Includes

  • Transporting attendees to and from the airport
  • Transporting attendees to and from the train station
  • Transporting attendees to an off-site event or attraction
  • Transporting attendees to and from the area by bus
  • Transporting attendees to a central meeting location from different hotels

Are You Eligible?

  • You must be booking an overnight event
  • The event must generate a minimum of 100 room nightsat a GWCVB Member hotel

How to Apply

  • The planner/organizer must contact the GWCVB PRIOR to signing a contract
  • The event must go to contract with a New Castle County GWCVB member hotel.
  • A copy of the signed contract, credit card authorization form and transportation
    requirements must be received by the GWCVB
  • Once the above is received, the GWCVB will connect you with a Member transportation
    provider to coordintate your event needs.

*Funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed. Restrictions and qualifications apply. The 100-room minimum applies to non-city-wide events. Minimums may vary for city-wide events or other New Castle County, Delaware locations. No funds will be released until after the event has occurred and actual generated room nights are verified. Any remaining balance not covered by the transportation incentive will be the sole responsibility of the contracted event planner/organization.
