Getting to Wilmington & the Brandywine Valley

Wilmington is right off I-95, and the Joseph R. Biden Jr. Railroad Station sits near the Wilmington Riverfront, an easy walk from downtown. We’re close to several international airports too, so it couldn’t be easier to get here.

At the Wilmington-New Castle Airport (ILG), 10 minutes from downtown Wilmington, Avelo Airlines offers direct flights to and from Puerto Rico, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, and multiple destinations in Florida. Other nearby airports include Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), about 25 minutes north of downtown Wilmington and Baltimore-Washington International, about 90 minutes from Delaware.

Amtrak services Wilmington's Joseph R. Biden Jr. Railroad Station with several trains per day. The station is blocks from the center of downtown Wilmington and only 1.5 to two hours from New York City and Washington, DC on Amtrak. From the railroad station travelers can also connect with SEPTA commuter trains that run directly from Philadelphia to Wilmington and Newark, Delaware.

For local transportation Lyft, Uber and rental car agencies are available throughout the region. DART First State provides local bus and rail services.
