Meeting Facilities

The Kalmar Nyckel is a seaworthy re-creation of the ship that brought the Swedes to Delaware in 1638. It is open for dockside tours, public day sails, pirate sails, private dockside events and sailing charters during sailing season. Educational programming and exhibits are offered year-round at the Copeland Maritime Center at the Kalmar Nyckel Shipyard. APRIL 2017: Due to an expanded maintenance schedule that will help keep The Tall Ship of Delaware sailing for another 20-plus seasons, Kalmar Nyckel will have a shortened sailing schedule this year. We will be returning to the water in late July, and will be sailing from Delaware ports through the summer and fall. You can join us during that time on the Christina River sailing from our Wilmington Shipyard, Old New Castle, or from the Cape May- Lewes Ferry Terminal. Please check our sailing schedule for details about sails, as well as other special events. We look forward to seeing you this Summer!
