“Move Over, Bellagio!” That’s what the Washington Post said when Longwood Gardens re-opened its Main Fountain Garden to much fireworks and fanfare in the summer of 2017, after a two-year, $90 million refurbishing. One of the premier attractions of the Brandywine Valley, these fountains rise and fall, spin and twirl, and sometimes even burst into flames in a dazzling display of improbable pyrotechnics – all choreographed to music (from Beethoven to the Beatles to Broadway, depending on the night) or alongside incredible fireworks displays during the Festival of Fountains.
