Join the Choir School of Wilmington and the Delaware Historical Society for the first Wilmington Bach Festival to be held May 12 and 13, 2017.

  • The Festival opens with a free pre-concert lecture, Advent of an Old Master: the (Very) Short History of Bach in Wilmington by Brenton Grom, a member of the Delaware Historical Society staff. Lecture begins on Friday at 6:30 pm. The Immanuel Bach Consort, a group resident at Immanuel Church on the Green in New Castle, will follow at 7:00 pm, singing cantatas that date from the early days of the church, which was founded in 1689.
  • On Saturday at 4:00 pm, the Festival continues with Bach’s Suites for Unaccompanied Cello, performed by Dr. Lawrence Stomberg, worldwide performer and professor of cello at the University of Delaware.
  • At 7:00 pm, the Choir School of Delaware, accompanied by Baroque Orchestra will sing Das ist Wohlgetan! Cantatas BWV 170 and 99.
