Summer Dance Camp at Delaware Dance Company

The camp day will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, a fully costumed evening performance will showcase what the campers have learned. A Half Day option from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm is also available. Campers may be dropped off as early as 8:30 am and picked up as late as 5:30 pm at no additional cost. Half Day campers must be picked up promptly at 1:00 pm except on Friday when all campers stay all day. They are transported by school bus to the theatre where they practice on stage and get ready for the performance. Campers are released to their parents after the performance.

A typical camp day includes two dance classes and two choreography sessions where the campers learn their dances for the end of the week.  Two craft or educational periods as well as a lunch break with video watching and quiet time round out the day. Cost $180 or $310. Week 1 - July 10-14 - A Night at the Movies - Dance has been an important feature in movies since their creation. This camp will focus on music and dance styles that became familiar through their appearance on the silver screen.

Week 2 - July 17-21 - Best of Broadway - On the stages of Broadway theaters, dance styles have been created, reimagined, and popularized. Campers will learn about and dance to the music of hit Broadway shows.

Week 3 - July 24-28 - Beautiful Ballet - Dancers will study ballets and ballet styles from classical to contemporary and create their own "beautiful ballet" dances.
