Wilmington, DE 19806
Contact: (302) 351-8542
Admission: FREE

Edgar-nominated author Shelly Reuben will talk about her urban fable My Mostly Happy Life: Autobiography of a Climbing Tree and tell why, in the tradition of great 19th century authors like Charles Dickens and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, she decided to have her novel illustrated and — prior to publication in book form — serialized in the press.
Before Shelly takes center Stage, Dr. Mary Holahan, Curator of Illustration, will provide background about the Museum's world-famous collection of illustrations, and describe why, historically, art and fiction have lived so long in “wedded bliss.” Join Shelly as she tells a few tales, reads a few fun paragraphs, answers questions, and autographs copies of her book.
