New Music Delaware: 10,000 Birds

Join New Music Delaware for an interactive and unique concert experience on the CFA Green between the Roselle Center for the Arts and the Amy E. Du Pont Music Building.

John Luther Adams’ piece, "Ten Thousand Birds," adapted by Alan Pierson, takes inspiration from the wildlife of Northeastern and Midwest US forests. It explores the connections between nature and music through the mimicry of birds and reptiles native to these areas. Pierson’s adaptation takes the listener through an imagined 24-hour period in this hour-long, outdoor concert.
