Culinary specialty stations include assorted breads and pastries, fresh fruit, made-to-order omelettes, waffles, charcuterie display, soups & salads, raw bar (oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, sushi, ceviche), seafood entrees (seared scallops, mini crab cakes, oysters rockefellar, clams casino), hand-carved meats (beef tenderloin, lamb racks, grilled chicken), vegan, and an indulgent dessert display from the hotel bake shop, Spark'd Creative Pastry.

About the Gold Ballroom

Part of the 1918 expansion of the HOTEL DU PONT, the Gold Ballroom is a true testament to craftmanship and artistry. The ceiling detail features bas-relief medallions of twenty acclaimed women from diverse backgrounds including Mary Stuart, the first pilgrim to set foot in the New World; Pocahontas, a Native American; Lady Hamilton, a former maid; Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt; and Dido, daughter of a slave. The walls depict women in cultural dress from around the globe mixed with draped mythological figures executed in sgraffito, a "scratching" technique where the design is hand-cut into multiple layers of colored plaster. It took thirty artisans more than a year to complete the room in this lost art.
