Join us around the fire once last time as we immerse ourselves in stories of witchcraft, necromancy, disease and murder, and learn about the strange ways that early Pennsylvanians treated their dead—and their living. Gather with us in a picturesque setting, and be transported back in time through stories of folklore and history by our gifted storytellers. Each community, each state, are threads in the fabric that make up the history and legacy of our great nation.

Our storyteller will be.Jennifer Green, Director of Education at the Chester County Historical Society and local author. Green will recount stories from her latest book: "Dark History of Penn's Woods: Murder, Madness, and Misadventure in Southeastern Pennsylvania.” Her book includes tales of murder, witchcraft, cannibalism, tragic accidents and macabre events, all meticulously researched and placed within the greater context of Pennsylvania and world history. Green is also a contributor to the Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia and and has worked with museums throughout southeastern Pennsylvania on research and program development.

The program begins at 7 pm outside on the grounds of Greenbank Mills and Philips Farm and lasts approximately one hour. Be sure to BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair) and a blanket as autumnal chill will be in the air. Themed food and drinks will be available to purchase during the event.
