Discover the fascinating life of Emily Dickinson, a gardener and naturalist who became one of America's most esteemed poets. Marta McDowell, author, horticulturist, and garden designer, will highlight Dickinson's deeply held interests in gardens and nature, including New England wildflowers. These interests, in turn, shaped her poetry. The talk will be illustrated with poems as well as images of the people, plants, and places that Dickinson loved.
Copies of Marta's book, Emily Dickinson's Gardening Life: The Plants and Places That Inspired the Iconic Poet, will be available for purchase and signing after the lecture.
