Learn about the diversity of waterfowl (ducks, geese, and swans) and how to identify them through a zoom lecture and field trip. Led by Joe Sebastiani.
During the zoom lecture on Dec. 7 from 6 PM - 7:30 PM, we'll prepare by reviewing the variety of species that occur in Delaware, with a discussion on their habits and habitats.
On our field trip on Dec. 11 from 8 AM - 2 PM, we'll be searching for a variety of species along the Delaware Bayshore; one of the best places in the country for waterfowl migration. We'll be searching for diving ducks, dabbling ducks, geese and swans in the Delaware Bay, fresh, and brackish water marshes. Waterfowl are large, easy to spot, and typically patterned in recognizable ways making them good subjects for people interested in learning more about birds.
Note: You will be emailed a Zoom meeting link prior to the evening lecture as well as detailed information regarding the field trip.
