A film about a tiny woman with a huge impact.  Ninety-two-year-old Sonia Warshawski has been inspirational to countless people with her public speaking in schools and prisons on the topic of her traumatic teenage years during the Holocaust. Upon finding out that she has lost the lease on a storefront housing her iconic tailor shop, she is faced with finding another location or retiring. For a woman who admits she stays busy “to keep the dark parts away”, facing retirement dredges up fears she’d long forgot she had, and her horrific past resurfaces. BIG SONIA explores what it means to be a survivor and how the trauma goes on to affect families and generations.
