In July of 1969, the first men landed on the moon. But did you know the suits that made those first steps possible were created here in Delaware? In his lecture, Dr. Doug Lantry will discuss the history, technology, and culture of the suits as well as their links to Delaware.
Dr. Lantry is a curator at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and has served as an advisor to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum’s “Save America’s Treasures: Threatened Artifacts of the Apollo Program” project. Dr. Lantry received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Delaware.
This event is co-sponsored by the Hagley Museum and Library. Event is free but registration is requested.
