The Grand Opera House, a landmark to the city of Wilmington, Delaware for more than 140 years, delights residents and visitors with the finest live entertainment the country has to offer. The theatre’s pristine acoustics have made the Grand a favorite tour stop for musicians such as Lyle Lovett, Bonnie Raitt, and George Thorogood among countless others, while it is also home to OperaDelaware, the Delaware Symphony Orchestra and the First State Ballet Theatre.
Today, The Grand, along with its sister theaters, The Playhouse on Rodney Square and The Baby Grand, make downtown Wilmington a destination for music, comedy, and Broadway fans alike. With easy access from I-95 as well as surrounding Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland towns, high-quality shows and entertainment can be enjoyed with less traffic and a lower cost to park. Add in a burgeoning culinary scene along Wilmington’s Market Street with the James Beard Semifinalist, Bardea Food and Drink, the Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives featured restaurant, Farmer and the Cow, or DE.CO, Delaware’s only food hall featuring eight different restaurants (including a bar) and you have all the makings for an evening out or a weekend escape.
Make it a “Grand” Weekend Escape when you book at one of the many Downtown Hotels!
